Job summary

Optosem Systems in Malaysia is seeking a Production Scheduler to oversee planning activities, coordinate with procurement and production teams, and respond to changing customer schedules. You will raise work orders, place POs, monitor subcontractor delivery, and ensure accurate transcription of orders into sales systems.

The role requires 1–3 years in production scheduling, strong analytical and coordination skills, and proficiency in Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in any discipline or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in production scheduling and planning.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Able to develop, monitor and adjust work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation in planning section as instructed by Production Manager.
• Highlight bottlenecks in parts delinquency to Procurement Executive.
• Raise work orders to production per requirements.
• Raise purchase requests for purchasing to place PO with suppliers.
• Liaise with subcontractors and monitor delivery schedules.
• Adjust to customer revised schedules and reflect changes.
• Transmit POs to Sales Order ensuring correct quantity, price, and ship address.
• Check material availability and plan pull-ins based on production plan.
• Update Sales Report and prepare quarterly quotations.
• Prepare monthly tooling reports.

Key responsibilities

• Execute instructions from the Production Manager to oversee the operation in planning section
• Highlight the bottlenecks on parts delinquency to the Procurement Executive
• Raise work order to production per requirements
• Raise purchase request for Purchasing to place purchase orders to subcon or supplier based on customer request
• Liaise with subcon and monitor subcon delivery schedule
• Reflect, adjust and respond to customer's revised schedule
• Transmit PO to Sales Order, ensure the quantity, price and ship to address is correct
• Check material availability and plan for pull in based on production plan
• Update Sales Report and prepare quotation by quarterly
• Prepare Tooling Report by monthly

About you

• Degree/Diploma in any Discipline or equivalent
• At least 1 - 3 year experience in production schedule and planning
• Ability of analytical and dynamic coordinator to cope dynamic change of requirement
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Able to develop work schedule and monitoring project
• Able to formulate, look ahead and recovery schedule
