Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to act as the primary engineering contact for the Power Electronics Center of Excellence and to collaborate with contract manufacturers on PCBA, mechanical/electrical assembly, and power electronics.

The role involves reviewing manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, and controls, applying DfX principles to improve manufacturability, cost, and quality, and supporting NPIs and product transfers to ensure readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in contract manufacturing or supplier-managed environments.
• Strong understanding of Design for Excellence concepts, including DFM/DFA.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally.

Job description

Manufacturing Engineer (US MNC | Batteries, Chargers, Power Systems)

• Serve as the primary Manufacturing Engineering contact for the Power Electronics Center of Excellence and assigned contract manufacturers (CMs).
• Evaluate and develop CM capabilities in PCBA, mechanical/electrical assembly, and power electronics.
• Review and approve manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, equipment, and controls.
• Apply DfX, DFM, DFA, DFQ, DFC, DFR, and DFS principles to optimize design for manufacturability, cost, quality, and scalability.
• Lead DfX reviews and provide design feedback to address manufacturing risks and improve product readiness.
• Support NPI and product transfers, including DFM/DFA reviews, pilot builds, and process validation.
• Drive process capability, yield improvement, cost reduction, and standardization across CMs.
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for manufacturing, design, and supplier issues.
• Ensure CM compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management on manufacturing readiness and supplier requirements.
• Support CM audits and supplier selection by assessing process capabilities and design compatibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a contract manufacturing or supplier managed environment.
• Strong understanding of Design for Excellence concepts, including DFM/DFA and related disciplines.
• Combination of office based work and contract manufacturer site support.
• Frequent domestic and/or international travel may be required.
