You will develop manufacturing processes, lead FMEA and control plans, review specifications, and apply Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to achieve cost efficiency, speed, and product consistency.
Our manufacturing plant in Kulim is seeking an Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong technical background and hands-on experience to ensure smooth production operations, optimize manufacturing systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes by designing and conducting analysis programs, applying knowledge of product design and fabrication, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Improve manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, space planning, and equipment layout design. Ensure product and process quality by establishing testing methods, validating process capabilities, and setting standards.
Provide data-driven insights for manufacturing decisions and risk-based solutions to minimize production issues and meet On-Time Shipment (OTS) targets. Prepare detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends.
Lead FMEA development and updates for assigned manufacturing processes to ensure accurate risk evaluation and mitigation.
Review specifications and implement changes for inquiries and project work under the guidance of the lead engineer and/or manager.
Apply knowledge of machine processes and experience in high-volume manufacturing to achieve significant gains in cost efficiency, speed, and product consistency.
Coordinate projects, including analysis, meetings, and reporting, ensuring timely and effective execution.
Communicate professionally and effectively in both verbal and written formats, delivering structured and concise reports.
Adapt quickly and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive process improvements (preferred).
Demonstrate flexibility, quick learning, and openness to new tasks and processes.
Experience in customer CAR 8D report writing is an added advantage.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with exposure to manufacturing and production processes.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Process FMEA and Control Plan development.
Effective communication skills across all levels.
Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
Analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
Capable of leading team discussions and meetings effectively.
People-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
