The Automation Engineer (2 Years Contract) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems and machinery to ensure efficient production and operational performance. This role requires a strong technical background in automation, PLC programming, and mechanical systems.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance on automated equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
- Ensure minimal downtime by promptly addressing technical failures.
Automation System Support
- Assist in the programming, installation, and optimization of PLCs, robotics, and other automation systems.
- Conduct system calibration, testing, and adjustments to improve performance.
- Work closely with engineers and operators to enhance system efficiency.
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity.
- Identify opportunities to enhance automation processes and reduce manual intervention.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize breakdowns and defects.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and system modifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Provide technical support for audits and inspections as required.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve automation workflows.
- Provide training and guidance to operators and junior technicians on automation systems.
- Stay updated with the latest automation technologies and industry best practices.
ABOUT YOU
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in automation, PLC programming, or industrial maintenance.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron, etc.)
- Experience with robotics, SCADA, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and safety regulations.
