U Mobile is seeking a dynamic Strategy Manager to serve as the market insights specialist within the Strategy Planning group. You will report to the Head of Department and drive strategic initiatives from ideation through implementation, partnering across IT, Network and Marketing.

You will lead feasibility studies, build business cases, model market dynamics, and provide competitive intelligence to inform financial planning and corporate strategy for the telecom leader.

Role

As U Mobile moves into a pivotal phase of growth and market expansion, we are seeking a dynamic Strategy Manager to serve as the department’s market insights specialist and to drive strategic initiatives. In this role, you will operate as a high-impact strategic partner reporting directly to the Head of Department. You will be responsible for driving critical strategic initiatives from ideation through to implementation. Simultaneously, you will partner with the Strategy Planning team to provide the competitive intelligence and market insights that inform our broader strategy and financial planning frameworks.

The Day-To-Day Activities

• Drive Strategic Initiatives
• Initiative Leadership: Drive the end-to-end execution of high-priority corporate projects assigned by the Head of Department, ensuring successful delivery from conception to operational readiness.
• Feasibility & Validation: Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and assessments for emerging opportunities. You will engage with external vendors, validate solution maturity, and build robust business cases to support investment decisions.
• Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead working groups across IT, Network, and Marketing to ensure initiative milestones are met on time and within scope.
• Competitive Simulation: Lead dynamic strategic simulations to stress-test corporate plans. You will model potential competitor responses and market shifts in reaction to the company’s strategic moves to anticipate risks and defensive tactics.
• Market Data Management: You will track macro-economic trends, market sizing, and digital economy indicators to ensure the Strategy Planning team has accurate inputs for financial modeling.
• Trend Monitoring: Proactively monitor the industry landscape, producing periodic briefs on disruptive threats, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior shifts to leadership.
• Initiative Performance
• Project Tracking: Monitor the results of implemented initiatives against their original business cases (ROI and KPIs) to ensure they deliver the expected benefits.
• Post-Implementation Review: Conduct reviews of completed pilots and strategic projects to capture lessons learned and validate that operational targets are being met

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related fields.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification an added advantage
• 6-8 years total experience, with significant experience in Management Consulting or Corporate Strategy within the TMT (Tech/Media/Telco) sector.
• Strong financial modeling, market sizing, project management, and executive presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications industry dynamics, digital transformation trends, and enterprise B2B models (especially 5G, AI, cloud, and private networks).
