Job summary

Mah Sing Group Berhad is seeking a Manager/Senior Executive - BI Analyst (IT) to act as an internal consultant, solving business challenges through data. You will gather requirements, design data ecosystems, build automated reporting and dashboards, and translate insights into actionable business cases for senior leaders.

The role requires strong ETL, SQL, and programming skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality BI solutions from Wisma MahSing, Jalan Sungai Besi, KL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field required.
• 3–5 years of experience in BI/IT roles.
• Experience with Power BI and MS SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of ETL and data integration.
• Programming experience in Python/R/C/C++ is a plus.
• Must work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from stakeholders to understand business needs.
• Translate requirements into measurable metrics and design data ecosystems for automated reporting.
• Create reports and dashboards to automate metric extraction.
• Analyze data to uncover trends and insights for business problems.

Manager/Senior Executive - BI Analyst (IT)

You will act as an internal consultant to support the achievement of strategic goals across the organization. You will be entrusted to problem solve real challenges using a combination of your technical skills, domain knowledge and business acumen to harness data and to derive actionable insight.

Role & Responsibilities

Conduct requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders & key users to understand the business requirements

Translate business requirements into quantifiable metrics and design a data ecosystem that enables automated reporting of these metrics

Constructs reports and dashboards that automate the extraction of these metrics

Analyze data to uncover valuable trends and insights to solve business and technical problems

Translate the outcome of analyses into actionable insight and present your business case to key decision-makers in the organization

Run queries to Extract, Combine and Transform Data from a variety of data sources

Perform statistical analysis and/or machine learning modeling to identify meaningful patterns and trends in our data

Apply business intelligence tools and techniques to translate raw data into meaningful and useful information for analysis and problem solving

Extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources for consumption by stakeholders or other applications

Data profiling, data cleansing, data mapping as well as recommend ways to continuously improve data quality

Implement, manage & optimize business intelligence solutions for the organization

Collaborate with team members to analyze systems & processes

Design & develop ad-hoc or automated reports & fine tuning it to meet business needs

Conduct hand-over and training sessions to empower end-users to understand the business intelligence tools available to them

Creating and maintaining documentation of implemented work

Requirements

Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.

Minimum 3 - 5 years working experience in the related position.

Project experience with visualization tools (eg. PowerBI) and database (eg. MS SQL Server)

Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration methods and tools

Experience with function coding (Python, R, C/C++,etc.)

Strong team player and you can work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

Solid analytical and technical skill and the ability to exchange innovative ideas

Quick learner and passionate about continuously developing your skills and knowledge

Willing to work in Wisma MahSing, Jalan Sungai Besi, KL.
