Job summary

MINCONSULT Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for the power plant sector. You will prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, tender specifications and due diligence for medium to large thermal power projects.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in power plant design, review, and project supervision.
• Strong knowledge of thermal power plants and relevant international codes.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
• Design experience with gas/steam turbines, HRSG, boiler, BOP and piping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, tender specs and due diligence for large power plants.
• Evaluate EPC tenders and negotiate with contractors.
• Review contractor designs for compliance with specs and codes.
• Assist in proposing and implementing new technologies for plant systems.
• Maintain clear client communication on project progress and constraints.
• Coordinate with departments and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.

Job description

Preparation of feasibility studies, conceptual designs, tender specifications and due diligence for medium to large thermal power plants

Participate in evaluation of EPC tenders, negotiations with contractors

Review of contractors designs, engineering calculations for compliance to technical specifications and standards and codes

Evaluate, recommend and implement new technology related to the system and equipment in the power plant

Client Relation:

Effectively communicate with internal and external Clients on project progress, constraints and solutions

Participate in proposal development, cost estimations and presentations to potential Clients

Project Management:

Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for timely delivery

Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Preferably more than 10 years of working experience in power plants, such as in design, design review & approval, project management & supervision, etc.

Have good understanding of thermal power plants

Familiar with International Codes & Standards and local statutory requirements

A team player and working well with others

Effective time management and ability to meet datelines

Must have design experience and/or in-depth working knowledge in gas & steam turbines, HRSG, boiler, BOP and piping
