Job summary

Oceaneering Malaysia is seeking a Manager, Subsea Robotics Operations to plan, direct, and coordinate operational activities for offshore assets. You will oversee equipment readiness, crew assignments, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with Project Managers, Technical Support, and Global Mobility to drive operational excellence.

In this role you will lead training, monitor KPIs, manage repair and maintenance costs, and contribute to service excellence initiatives while supporting offshore

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of oilfield or related operational experience.
  • Experience with Subsea Robotics and ROV operations preferred.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel offshore and support remote locations when required.

Job Description

The Manager, Subsea Robotics Operations works closely with the Operations Lead to plan, direct, and coordinate operational activities relating to personnel and equipment required to support area operations. The role oversees equipment preparation and maintenance, personnel assignments, workforce competency, asset readiness, and operational performance. The position also collaborates with Project Managers, Technical Support, Product Management, Commercial, Global Mobility, and other business lines to support project execution and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Operations Lead in planning, directing, and coordinating Subsea Robotics operational activities.
  • Oversee equipment preparation, maintenance, and readiness, including Remotely Operated Vehicles, workover systems, subsea tooling, and associated support equipment.
  • Direct or assist with personnel and crew assignments for offshore operations, equipment preparation, and onshore maintenance.
  • Ensure offshore personnel training, regulatory compliance, competency, and readiness requirements are established and achieved.
  • Work with the Operations Lead and Project Managers on crew selection, evaluations, preparedness, competency performance, and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor equipment readiness and support the reporting of operational KPIs defined by the Service Excellence Lead.
  • Support equipment selection, asset-readiness profiling, preparation-cost estimates, and other inputs required for projects and system installations.
  • Manage repair and maintenance costs for assigned equipment and areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure operational process changes and new process implementations are completed, communicated, and sustained.
  • Coordinate with local operations, project management, technical support, engineering, commercial, product management, and Global Mobility teams.
  • Participate in HSE, Quality, Service Excellence, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Share information across business lines to improve operational performance and execution.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and development support to assigned personnel.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree, with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Management, Engineering, Marine Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum five years of oilfield or relevant operational experience, including at least three years of administrative, office, or operations-management experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting Subsea Robotics, ROV, offshore, or related operational activities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment readiness, maintenance, personnel planning, competency management, and offshore operational support.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple operational requirements, and take action proactively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across operations, projects, engineering, technical support, commercial, and support functions.
  • Knowledge of applicable company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, HSE expectations, and operational standards.
  • Commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, fairness, respect, and operational excellence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and support offshore or remote operational locations when required
