Job summary

Weststar Aviation Services is seeking a Manager, Operations in Malaysia to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient running of company projects and operations. You will assist the General Manager Operations (GMO) in implementing potential projects and coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

The role requires extensive aviation experience and strong regulatory knowledge, with leadership responsibilities in day-to-day activities and delegation during absences.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in aviation management or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of aviation experience.
• Typically 5 years of management experience in aviation.

Responsibilities

• Executes project plans and ensures milestones and deliverables are met.
• Manages day-to-day project activities and operational tasks.
• Coordinates with team members, subcontractors, and vendors on day-to-day operations.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, standards, and policies specific to the project.
• Liaise with clients on all matters regarding operations, including variations to the concession agreement.
• Liaise with external agencies that may affect operations.
• Reports project progress to the General Manager Operations and other stakeholders.
• Delegation of duties in the event of prolonged absence to Assistant Manager, Operations.

The Manager, Operations is responsible to the General Manager Operations (GMO) for the safe, smooth, and efficient running of the company’s projects and all matters related to the operations in general. Additional job description includes, assisting GMO in the implementation of potential projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaise with clients on all matters regarding operations, including variations to the concession agreement.
• Liaise with external agencies that may affect operations.
• Reports project progress to the General Manager Operations and other stakeholders.
• Permanent member of the Jawatankuasa Teknikal (JKT) The Leasing of Helicopters for the use of the Government agencies.
• Delegation of duties in the event of prolonged absence to Assistant Manager, Operations.

REQUIREMENT

• Diploma/Degree in Aviation Management or related field of study
• Minimum 15 years of related aviation experience
• Typically 5 years of management experience in the aviation industry
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills
• Strong knowledge and understanding of all applicable regulatory requirements
• Highly commercial and customer focused with intellectual rigor
