Job summary

Teleport, Malaysia's leading integrated logistics provider, seeks a Manager, Cargo Operations to lead end-to-end air cargo, warehouse, and ramp operations. You will ensure maximum flight utilization, regulatory compliance, and seamless service delivery while managing ground handling partners and operational teams.

The role requires 7+ years in air cargo operations, a Bachelor’s in logistics or related field, strong leadership, and solid negotiation and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation, or equivalent field.
• 7+ years in air cargo operations with oversight of GHAs and hub/warehouse workflows.
• Operational leadership with experience driving compliance with customs and aviation authorities.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional communication skills, able to make rapid decisions.

• Supervise daily cargo operations, manage shift teams, and ensure staff certifications.
• Monitor load planning, space utilization, and payload optimization for flight yield.
• Oversee cargo acceptance, build-up, breakdown, and ramp processes with GHAs and freight forwarders.
• Direct handling of special cargo and manage ULD inventory and warehouse ops.
• Ensure shipments comply with customs, aviation safety, and security standards; prepare for audits.
• Act as escalation point for flight delays, cargo damage, and operational disruptions.
• Coordinate cargo transfers across third-party CTOs.

A DAY IN LIFE
As the Manager, Cargo Operations, you will lead and oversee end-to-end air cargo, warehouse, and ramp operations to ensure maximum flight utilization, strict regulatory compliance, and seamless service delivery. You will manage ground handling partners, supervise operational teams, and serve as the key operational point of contact for external agents and civil aviation authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Compliance: Supervise daily cargo operations, manage shift teams, and ensure all staff certifications and mandatory training are up to date.
• Flight & Capacity Optimization: Monitor load planning, space utilization, and payload optimization to maximize flight yield; coordinate Last Minute Changes (LMC), additions, and offloads.
• Ground & Ramp Coordination: Oversee cargo acceptance, build-up, breakdown, and ramp processes alongside Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), freight forwarders, and ramp teams to maintain connection times.
• Special Handling & Equipment: Direct the handling and build-up of odd-sized or special cargo, and manage unit load device (ULD) inventory, warehouse ops, and ground equipment.
• Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Ensure all shipments comply with local customs, aviation safety, and international security standards; lead preparations for authority and airline audits.
• Disruption & Claim Management: Act as the escalation point for flight delays, damaged cargo, and operational disruptions, implementing swift recovery plans and managing customer claims.
• CTO Transfers: Supervise and coordinate cargo transfers across third-party Cargo Terminal Operators (CTOs).

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation, or equivalent field.
• Experience: 7+ years in air cargo operations, with proven experience overseeing ground handling agents (GHAs), hub/warehouse workflows, and multi-flight ramp operations.
• Operational Leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading operational teams, managing operational disruptions, and driving compliance with customs and aviation authorities.
• Financial & Yield Management: Experience in flight capacity optimization, space utilization, ULD inventory management, and vendor SLA management.
• Competencies: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills; comfortable making rapid decisions in high-pressure operational settings.
