Job summary

Teleport, Southeast Asia’s leading integrated logistics provider, seeks a Manager, Cargo Operations in Malaysia to oversee end-to-end air cargo, warehouse, and ramp operations, ensuring maximum flight utilization and strict regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with ground handling agents, ramp teams, and external authorities to deliver reliable service across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in air cargo operations and overseeing GHAs, hub/warehouse workflows, and multi-flight ramp operations.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional communication skills; able to make rapid decisions in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end air cargo, warehouse, and ramp operations with external partners and authorities.
• Monitor compliance with customs, aviation safety and security standards; prepare for audits.
• Oversee cargo acceptance, build-up, breakdown, and ramp processes with GHAs and freight forwarders.
• Direct handling of odd-sized or special cargo and manage ULD inventory and warehouse operations.

A DAY IN LIFE

As the Manager, Cargo Operations, you will lead and oversee end-to-end air cargo, warehouse, and ramp operations to ensure maximum flight utilization, strict regulatory compliance, and seamless service delivery. You will manage ground handling partners, supervise operational teams, and serve as the key operational point of contact for external agents and civil aviation authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Compliance: Supervise daily cargo operations, manage shift teams, and ensure all staff certifications and mandatory training are up to date.
• Flight & Capacity Optimization: Monitor load planning, space utilization, and payload optimization to maximize flight yield; coordinate Last Minute Changes (LMC), additions, and offloads.
• Ground & Ramp Coordination: Oversee cargo acceptance, build-up, breakdown, and ramp processes alongside Ground Handling Agents (GHAs), freight forwarders, and ramp teams to maintain connection times.
• Special Handling & Equipment: Direct the handling and build-up of odd-sized or special cargo, and manage unit load device (ULD) inventory, warehouse ops, and ground equipment.
• Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Ensure all shipments comply with local customs, aviation safety, and international security standards; lead preparations for authority and airline audits.
• Disruption & Claim Management: Act as the escalation point for flight delays, damaged cargo, and operational disruptions, implementing swift recovery plans and managing customer claims.
• CTO Transfers: Supervise and coordinate cargo transfers across third-party Cargo Terminal Operators (CTOs).

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Aviation, or equivalent field.
• Experience: 7+ years in air cargo operations, with proven experience overseeing ground handling agents (GHAs), hub/warehouse workflows, and multi-flight ramp operations.
• Operational Leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading operational teams, managing operational disruptions, and driving compliance with customs and aviation authorities.
• Financial & Yield Management: Experience in flight capacity optimization, space utilization, ULD inventory management, and vendor SLA management.
• Competencies: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills; comfortable making rapid decisions in high-pressure operational settings.
