Job summary

Tenaga Nasional Berhad seeks a Manager, Finance & Economic Analysis to lead the financial analysis of PPAs, focusing on CAPEX, OPEX, tariff structures, and overall project economics. You will evaluate IPP models, collaborate with finance and project teams, and assess financial health under various scenarios to ensure optimal tariff terms.

The role requires 5+ years in PPAs or fuel agreements, with a strong background in IRR/NPV modelling, risk assessment, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Finance with knowledge of IRR/NPV and project financial analysis.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, with 2–3 years in Power Purchase Agreements or fuel agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial analysis of PPAs, focusing on CAPEX, OPEX, tariff structures, and overall project economics.
• Evaluate financial models submitted by IPPs and bidders, providing insights into viability and returns.
• Collaborate with finance and project teams to assess financial health under different scenarios.
• Assist in structuring PPAs by providing data-driven insights into cost structures and optimal tariff rates.
• Analyze inputs such as energy yields, currency risks, and discount rates for accurate modelling.
• Identify financial risks related to project financing and CAPEX overruns.
• Review debt-to-equity ratios to ensure financial stability throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management, suggesting adjustments to terms as needed.
• Monitor project progress against forecasts and propose revisions to PPA terms if required.

Accountability & Responsibility

• Lead the financial analysis of PPAs, focusing on CAPEX, OPEX, tariff structures, and overall project economics.
• Evaluate financial models submitted by IPPs and bidders, providing insights into project viability and potential returns.
• Collaborate with finance and project teams to assess the financial health of projects, analysing profitability under different scenarios.
• Assist in structuring PPAs by providing data-driven insights into cost structures and optimal tariff rates.
• Analyse key financial inputs such as energy yields, currency exchange risks, and discount rates to ensure accurate modeling.
• Identify financial risks associated with project financing, CAPEX overruns, and other economic variables.
• Review project financing structures, including debt-to-equity ratios, to ensure financial stability throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to senior management, recommending adjustments to contract terms based on financial analysis.
• Monitor ongoing project progress performance, reviewing financial outcomes against initial forecasts, and proposing revisions to PPA terms if needed.

Education and Knowledge
