Job summary

TNG Digital in Malaysia is seeking a commercially minded professional to drive channel strategy and execution for our merchant categories. You will align initiatives with merchant and user needs, deliver measurable outcomes across revenue, efficiency, and engagement, and work with internal stakeholders to secure buy‑in.

The role focuses on process improvements, performance insights, and foresight on emerging trends in payments and fintech.

Responsibilities

• Drive and sustain channel strategy and execution for designated merchant categories.
• Align initiatives with merchant and user needs to deliver measurable revenue, efficiency, and engagement outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal Commercial, Product, Operations, Risk, and other stakeholders to secure buy-in and coordinated execution.
• Identify and implement improvements in core commercial processes (refunds, PSR, reconciliation) to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Track merchant performance, generate insights, and present outcomes to merchants and senior management.
• Anticipate trends in payments and fintech and translate them into future-ready commercial initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Channel Strategy & Execution: Drive and sustain the designated business / merchants’ categories financials. while increasing and ensuring
• Commercial Alignment: Ensure initiatives are designed with merchant/user needs in mind, delivering measurable business outcomes across revenue, efficiency, and engagement.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal Commercial stakeholders, Product, Operations, Risk, and other relevant stakeholders to align objectives, secure buy-in, and deliver coordinated execution.
• Process & Operations Improvement: identify and drive enhancements in core commercial processes (e.g., refunds, PSR, reconciliation) to improve efficiency and customer experience.
• Insights & Reporting: track performance of merchants, generate insights, and present outcomes to merchants and senior management.
• Innovation & Foresight: Anticipate emerging trends within merchants, payments and platforms, and translate them into future‑ready commercial initiatives.

Role Requirements:

• Experience in strategy, business development, or commercial operations, ideally with cross‑industry or platform experience. Retail environment experience is a plus.
• Proven experience in payments, fintech, eCommerce, or telco, with exposure to cross‑vertical projects or ecosystem‑building initiatives
• Entrepreneurial attributes: Able to identify opportunities and gaps across business lines and frame initiatives that drive address them with upside values.
• Commercial and operational acumen which understands merchant needs, payment flows, and operational pain points.
• Analytical skills: capable of translating data into project direction, business cases, and measurable impact.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage with all levels and aligning across diverse teams with shared priorities.
