Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep and repair of equipment and machinery at our sports and recreational facility. The role ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in optimal condition for staff and patrons.

You will conduct routine inspections, diagnose faults, coordinate with contractors, and maintain accurate maintenance records. SPM or equivalent is required; technical certification is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • SPM or equivalent; a technical certification in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical engineering is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in facility or building maintenance, ideally within a sports, recreational, or hospitality environment.
  • Physically fit, with the ability to perform manual tasks including working at heights or in confined spaces where necessary.
  • Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and respond effectively under time pressure.
  • Willing to work on a shift basis in accordance with facility operating hours.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on water pumps, lighting systems, air-conditioning units, and other facility machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and plumbing faults promptly to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Respond to urgent repair requests and breakdowns during operational hours, including on weekends and public holidays where scheduled.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and flag recurring issues for management attention.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialised repairs or servicing as required.

Education

SPM or equivalent
Technical certification in maintenance/electrical/mechanical engineering (advantage)
