Job summary

Scania Malaysia is seeking a skilled heavy vehicle technician to install, maintain, and repair vehicles through expert technical knowledge and dedicated customer support at customer sites in Malaysia. The role emphasizes coordination with sales staff and service teams to ensure accurate information, parts, and timing for each job.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, preparing tools and spare parts, conducting maintenance with safety in mind, and properly documenting work completed.

Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle technician or equivalent experience/qualification.
• Diploma or Certificate in relevant field per local standards.
• Driving license; heavy vehicle license an advantage.
• Experience in a commercial vehicle setup a plus.

Responsibilities

• Secure that right information, tools and spare parts are available.
• Collect work order and read/understand it.
• Start up the work order and collect extra information.
• Ensure access to the correct tools and spare parts.
• Prepare vehicle/component and perform maintenance or repair on time.
• Record deviations, complete handover, and inform related staff.

Role Summary

Installs, maintains, or repairs items or products ordered and supports customers through specialized technical or scientific knowledge/product applications in a customer's home or place of business. Maintains an ongoing relationship with selected customers and sales staff, particularly those focused on technical applications of the product or service. Uses technical knowledge of products, product availability, sales territories, and individual customers to provide a key communications link to the customer. May handle multiple product markets. Typically requires relevant experience, completion of technical product training, and demonstration of high-level product and process knowledge of a technical nature.

Before Maintenance or Repair Event

Secure that right information, tools and spare parts are available

• Collect work order
• Read and understand work order
• Start up work order
• Collect additional information

During Maintenance or Repair Event

Through well-known and described working methods and standards perform maintenance or repair on time in a correct and safe way

• Prepare vehicle/ prepare component
• Complete visual inspections
• Search for additional information in systems
• Secure spare parts for additional jobs
• Perform maintenance or repair on vehicle/component
• Manage deviations
• Return not used spare parts
• Clean exchange parts
• Return special tools

After Maintenance or Repair Event

Secure minimized lead time of invoicing. Through clear description of performed work and/or communicated what needs to be done if the work is handed over to a colleague

• Clarify performed work in work order and put signature
• End work order
• Complete handover
• Secure planning of next job

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle technician, equivalent experience or qualification.
• Diploma or Certificate (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia/Vocational Institutes).
• Driving License, and heavy vehicle license will be an added advantage.
• Experience in a commercial vehicle (kenderaan perdagangan) setup will be an added advantage.
