Job summary

Opero Hotel Southkey Johor Bahru seeks a proactive Maintenance Engineer to supervise electrical and mechanical works by associates and assist the Maintenance Manager in preventive maintenance planning.

You will ensure regular maintenance of building systems, prepare procedure manuals, manage spare parts and tools, and coordinate work to minimise guest disruption while reporting outcomes to the Maintenance Manager.

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in preventive maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and execution of all electrical and general mechanical works carried out by associates.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing, planning and implementing a preventive maintenance programme.
• Ensure regular maintenance of hotel building systems and equipment and proper recording.
• Prepare procedure manuals for planned maintenance systems and work schedules.
• Ensure all work complies with specifications and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate and ensure work is carried out efficiently, minimising guest or hotel operation disruption.
• Ensure adequate spare parts supply and proper storage and recording.
• Check maintenance tools are in good working condition and stored properly.
• Ensure tool/spare part removal from store complies with policies.
• Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of problems and outcomes.
• Assist in planning and organising on-the-job training for associates.
• Be familiar with location and operation of fire-fighting equipment and systems.
• Plan the departmental duty roster for approval by the Maintenance Manager.

Job description

• 1. Oversees the planning and execution of all electrical and general mechanical works carried out by the associates.
• 2. Assist the Maintenance Manager in the development, planning and implementation of a preventive maintenance programme.
• 3. Ensures regular maintenance of the hotel building system and equipment carried out and recorded.
• 4. Prepares proper procedure manuals for planned maintenance system and work schedules for all areas under the jurisdiction of the Engineering Department.
• 5. Ensures all work carried out by associates are carried out in accordance to the specification by technically or by statutory
• 6. Coordinates and ensures all work is carried out efficiently minimise any inconveniences to guest or hotel operations and to take corrective action when necessary.
• 7. Ensures adequate supply of spare parts for maintenance repairs in the store and ensures that these items are stored and recorded accordingly.
• 8. Checks all maintenance tools are in good working condition and are kept accordingly in the work area.
• 9. Ensures that all procedures of removing tools/spare parts from the store are complied to in accordance to the policies set by the Maintenance Manager.
• 10. Keeps the Maintenance Manager informed of any problems and outcome of the work carried out within the building.
• 11. Assists the Maintenance Manager in planning and organising on the job training to upgrade the knowledge and skills of all engineering associate.
• 12. To be fully familiar with the location and operation of all fire-fighting equipment and operations of fire-fighting equipment and operations of fire-fighting equipment and system.
