Job summary

Oryx Advanced Materials in Penang invites applications for a maintenance technician. A Diploma/Certificate in Electrical or Electronics is required, with PW1-PW4 credentials preferred.

You will perform preventive maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment, operate vacuum pumps and related systems, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. 2–3 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Electrical (Chargeman, Wireman PW1 PW2 PW3 PW4) or related engineering.
• 2–3 years working experience in equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with vacuum pumps, vacuum oven and related equipment.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting and rewiring.
• Experience maintaining electro-mechanical equipment.
• Familiar with thermocouples, temperature measurement, SSR/SCR, heating elements, ovens.

Responsibilities

• Identify and perform daily maintenance activities on equipment; initiate improvements to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
• Record daily checklists and preventive maintenance; ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors/vendors to meet installation and service requirements per contract.
• Monitor vendor work and report deviations to maintenance engineer for action.
• Ensure tools, consumables, and spare parts are stored, cleaned, and organized; maintain a tidy workspace.
• Support ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001 implementations and SOP compliance.

Responsibilities

• To identify and perform all daily maintenance activities equipment and carry out improvement projects in order to reduce downtime & to achieve good safety practiced for the equipment operation


• To ensure all daily checklist and preventive maintenance check sheets are in proper recorded and performed in accordingly


• To liaise with contractors/vendors to ensure contractor/vendor are well understanding on the installation works requirement and specification accordingly to the contract agreement as provided by immediate superior.


• To monitor the work of vendors specialized engaging in maintenance service works, such as maintenance service works in cooling tower, argon gas farm, dust collector system & other service work by vendors, and require reporting any deviation to maintenance engineer/equipment manager for further action


• To ensure all tools, equipment, consumable items and spare parts are properly stored, cleaned and handle based on first-in first -out basis. Maintain neat work area and follow safety rules


• To assist on the implementation and maintaining all ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001 requirements and activities accordingly to the standard operating procedures and company policy/objective
