Job summary

Blackhem Malaysia is seeking a skilled electrician/wireman to coordinate maintenance activities within a terminal environment. The role focuses on electrical installations, routine maintenance, and rapid response to breakdowns while ensuring safety standards are met.

You will document maintenance and repair activities, assist projects, and communicate across departments to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work adheres to safety procedures and regulations.
• Install electrical systems including lighting, outlets, control panels, cable trays, and conduit systems.
• Attend to electrical and instrumentation breakdowns within the terminal.
• Calibrate instrumentation equipment such as sensors and weighing systems.
• Perform electrical routine maintenance tasks and manage related work orders.
• Coordinate and support project work executions as required.
• Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors.

To coordinate with all department and contractors to carry out the required maintenance job without compromising the safety and quality of the job.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure all work adheres to safety procedures and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.

Install new electrical systems, including lighting, power outlets, control panels, cable trays, and conduit systems.

Attend to all electrical and instrumentation breakdowns within the terminal.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and calibration of instrumentation equipment such as temperature, pressure, and level sensors, as well as weighing systems

Perform all electrical routine maintenance tasks and manage related work notifications/maintenance orders.

Coordinate and support project work executions as required.

Carry out any additional duties assigned by Management.

Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical school or apprenticeship program is preferred.

License/Certification: Possess a Chargeman Competent Certificate (PW4/A0).

Experience: Previous experience as an electrician or wireman, minimum 2 years of practical experience in electrical maintenance.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring techniques, and able to troubleshoot faults in electrical systems.

Physical Ability: Able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects and other physical works

Communication: Ability to work well in a team and communicate across departments.

Others: Proficiency in hydraulic and mechanical systems will be an advantage.
