Job summary

GOLDCOIN STARHILL SDN BHD invites applications for a diligent facilities maintenance technician to manage dormitory units and common areas in Johor. The role focuses on timely troubleshooting, repairs, and systematic improvements to ensure safe, well-functioning living spaces.

You will handle electrical, plumbing and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with DOSH and related authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or equivalent.
• Certified Chargeman is an advantage.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and handyman works.
• Experience in maintaining building facilities.
• Know-how of compliance under DOSH and JTK for building upkeep and facilities.
• Able to write and converse in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Possesses own transport.
• Physically fit to perform maintenance and repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements of dormitory units and facilities (e.g., electrical outlets, switches, wiring, fans, water leaks).
• Respond to breakdowns and propose technical solutions or rectification methods.
• Carry out preventive maintenance schedules as planned by the Dormitory Manager.
• Conduct regular walk-arounds to ensure dormitory amenities are in good working condition.
• Maintain facilities such as genset, lift, CCTV, STP, MSB, turnstile, fire-fighting system, face recognition, and card access systems in compliance with DOSH, JTK, DOE and BOMBA requirements.
• Assist in conducting fire safety drills and ensure residents are familiar with fire-fighting equipment, exits, and assembly points.
• Ensure all systems and facilities meet regulatory and safety requirements.
• Keep accurate records of assets, maintenance reports, and facility inspection records.
• Maintain and safeguard maintenance tools, equipment, and store in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Monitor and assist in managing maintenance inventories.
• Work with third-party service providers for facility servicing and repairs.
• Report issues promptly to the Dormitory Manager and provide technical reports or proposals for rectifications.
• Perform any other maintenance duties as assigned.
