Job summary

Imperial Heritage Hotel Melaka is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep all hotel equipment in good repair and minimize downtime. You will perform day-to-day maintenance, handle room and public area tasks, and follow standard operating procedures to support guests and staff.

You will operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC systems, interpret readings from meters, and prioritize work while working under pressure with good judgement.

Job description

Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments and fellow staffs.

Key responsibilities

Respond and attend to guest repair requests

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests

Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, air-conditioning equipment

Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance

Interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units

Prioritize and organize work assignments

Work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements

Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners/HVAC and AC ducts

Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, plumbing and electrical equipment

Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment
