Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Presales Consultant (Mainframe) to support the sales team in positioning and securing mainframe opportunities. The role blends hands-on technical work with customer engagement, offering a clear pathway into presales consulting.

The candidate will deliver product presentations, manage POC activities, and prepare technical responses for RFPs/RFQs. A 2+ year mainframe background with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a mainframe environment (z/OS experience preferred).
• Exposure to CICS, MQ, or DB2 is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business solutions.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to install and configure solutions for demonstrations and POCs.
• Experience in preparing technical documentation and proposals.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in analysing client requirements and recommending solutions.
• Collaborative mindset to work with sales and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to customers, highlighting features, benefits, and use cases
• Support customer engagements and technical discussions throughout the sales cycle
• Address customer inquiries and coordinate follow‑up responses with internal experts and technology partners
• Plan, coordinate, and manage proof‑of‑concept (POC) activities from initiation to completion
• Perform product installation, configuration, and demonstrations for POCs where required
• Document POC outcomes and present findings to customers
• Prepare technical responses for RFPs, RFQs, and other proposal submissions
• Work with sales teams, consultants, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely proposal completion
• Build and maintain implementation knowledge of mainframe solutions and deployment scenarios
• Participate in training, certifications, and product enablement programs
