Job summary

Luxx Newhouse in Johor Bahru, Senai, is seeking a Machine Operator / Senior Machine Operator to operate and monitor fabrication machinery for solid surface and related products. You will ensure safe operation, quality, and on-time production in a factory setting.

The role requires reading basic production drawings, maintaining machine performance, and supporting junior operators. Bahasa Melayu and English are mandatory, with Mandarin/Chinese an added advantage. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / SKM or equivalent qualification; technical or mechanical background is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in machine operation, stone fabrication, woodworking, CNC or manufacturing is preferred.
• Senior Machine Operator: preferably 2–3 years of relevant machine operating experience.
• Ability to read basic production drawings and measurements.
• Good understanding of machine safety and production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery according to approved work instructions and production drawings.
• Handle machine setup and operation independently with minimal supervision after training.
• Perform machine setup, loading, positioning and adjustment according to job requirements.
• Carry out cutting, drilling, shaping, polishing and other fabrication processes.
• Check dimensions, finishing and product quality to meet specifications.
• Monitor machine performance, productivity and product quality.
• Read countertop/shop drawings and optimize slab cutting to reduce wastage.
• Identify machine abnormalities and report defects promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of machines.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times.

Machine Operator / Senior Machine Operator

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery used in the fabrication of solid surface, quartz, sintered stone and related worktop products. The position ensures machines are operated safely and efficiently while meeting production schedules, quality standards and work specifications.

Machines for operation are as follows:-

Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery according to approved work instructions and production drawings.

Handle machine setup and operation independently with minimal supervision upon training completion.

Perform machine setup, loading, positioning and adjustment according to job requirements. (duplicate)

Carry out cutting, drilling, shaping, polishing and other fabrication processes as assigned.

Check dimensions, finishing and product quality during production to ensure specifications are met.

Monitor machine performance, productivity and product quality.

Ability to interpret countertop/shop drawings and optimise slab cutting to reduce wastage

Identify machine abnormalities, production defects and quality issues and report them promptly.

Perform basic machine cleaning, maintenance and daily inspection.

Maintain proper records of production output, machine usage and defects where required.

Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements and company policies at all times.

Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.

Assist other production and fabrication teams when required.

Additional Responsibilities – Senior Machine Operator

Handle machine setup and operation independently with minimal supervision. (should be a standard across operators)

Conduct first-level troubleshooting for machine and production issues.

Monitor machine performance, productivity and product quality. (should be a standard across operators)

Guide and train junior machine operators and trainees on proper machine operation and safety procedures.

Coordinate with Production Supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.

Assist in identifying opportunities to improve machine efficiency, productivity and reduce material wastage.

Ensure operators follow approved work instructions and safety requirements.

Requirements
