is seeking an experienced M&E Site Engineer to manage and supervise mechanical and electrical works across cleanroom construction and semiconductor tool hook-up projects in Malaysia. You will own technical activities on site, review tender documents and drawings, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure compliance with MS standards, DOSH/JKKP, and client specs.
An experienced M&E Site Engineer to manage, coordinate, and supervise mechanical and electrical works across cleanroom construction and semiconductor tool hook-up projects, ensuring full compliance with engineering standards, client specifications, and Malaysian statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Take full technical ownership at project sites, supporting the Project Manager in reviewing tender documents, construction drawings, and hook-up schematics
Conduct technical reviews, engineering analysis, and optimisation of M&E and hook-up drawings in accordance with project scope, client standards, and statutory requirements
Prepare engineering assessments, technical reports, and recommendations for management and client approval
Supervise and coordinate M&E works during the cleanroom construction phase, including HVAC, ACMV, cleanroom pressurisation systems, chilled water, condenser water, process cooling systems, Compressed Dry Air (CDA), N₂, process gas rough-in, DI/RO water distribution and drainage systems, electrical power distribution, lighting, earthing systems, fire protection, BMS integration, and building services
Oversee and coordinate full tool hook-up scope for semiconductor equipment installation, including mechanical hook-up (process gas lines, specialty gas connections, chemical distribution, exhaust/scrubber connections, CDA, N₂, process air final connections, DI/RO water and chilled water interface) and electrical hook-up (power supply installation and termination, grounding, bonding, EMC requirements, control and signal wiring, panel integration and tool power commissioning)
Prepare Method Statements, Work Procedures, Hook-Up SOPs, and safety-related technical documentation
Lead on-site testing activities including flushing, leak tests, hi-pot tests, resistance tests, and pre-commissioning checks for all utility and electrical connections
Coordinate subcontractors, technicians, and hook-up teams to ensure progress, quality, and safety compliance
Ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulations including MS Standards, UBBL, DOSH/JKKP, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, local council rules, and semiconductor cleanroom standards
About you
Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
Registered Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) — mandatory
CIDB Construction Personnel Registration (minimum Green Card) or CIDB Contractor Registration — required
Minimum 5 years of M&E site management experience with hands-on involvement in cleanroom construction, semiconductor tool hook-up, or high-specification industrial projects
Strong working knowledge of Malaysian construction standards including MS, UBBL, DOSH/JKKP, and M&E installation practices
Experience coordinating with local authorities for inspections, Form G submissions, and regulatory approvals
Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia — Mandarin is essential for communication with China HQ
Willing to travel and be stationed long-term at project sites across Malaysia
Hands-on M&E site supervision experience in cleanroom or semiconductor environments
Ability to sign Form G and liaise independently with local authorities
