Job summary

Chong Lek Engineering Works Sdn. Bhd. seeks an M&E Engineer to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery and electrical/mechanical systems.

This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations through preventive and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering, with 2+ years in manufacturing or M&E roles.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or M&E.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, industrial automation, robotics, or control systems is a plus.
• Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and factory utilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Monitor mechanical and electrical systems and suggest improvements for efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and testing of new equipment.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers/contractors for servicing and improvements.
• Keep maintenance records and documentation up to date.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement to boost productivity.

Chong Lek Engineering Works Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled and motivated M&E Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery, mechanical and electrical systems, and factory facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, equipment, and factory utilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize machine downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Monitor the performance of mechanical and electrical systems and recommend improvements to increase production efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Support the installation, commissioning, testing, and modification of new production equipment.
• Work closely with the Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for equipment servicing, maintenance, and improvement projects.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, equipment history, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and optimize manufacturing performance.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or M&E engineering.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine maintenance.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, industrial automation, robotics, or control systems is an added advantage.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage (preferred but not required).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
