Job summary

Kee Ming Group Berhad is seeking a Construction Manager (Data Center) to plan, coordinate and manage electrical, M&E and data center construction activities. The role ensures safety, on-time delivery, budget adherence and compliance with contract specs and standards.

You will lead project teams, review drawings, manage stakeholders, and drive risk mitigation while ensuring QA/QC and safety. Based at project sites with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or construction field.
• 8–10 years of construction/project management experience.
• Experience with M&E, electrical infrastructure, or data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage day-to-day construction activities at sites.
• Lead project teams including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and vendors.
• Ensure progress aligns with schedule and milestones.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, and authorities.
• Review drawings, specs, method statements, and docs.
• Resolve technical and site-related issues promptly.
• Ensure safety, QA/QC, and contractual compliance.
• Track project costs and resource use to meet budgets.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings.
• Support testing, commissioning, energization and handover.
• Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and identify risks.

Construction Manager (DATA CENTER)

Job Summary

The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the overall construction activities of electrical, M&E, and data center projects. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities at project sites.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure project progress meets the approved schedule and milestones.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
• Review construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and project documentation.
• Resolve technical, operational, and site-related issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor project costs and resource utilization to achieve budget targets.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Ensure all works comply with safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, energization, and project handover activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Mentor and develop site teams to improve project performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8–10 years of construction/project management experience.
• Experience managing M&E, electrical infrastructure, or data center projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
• Familiar with TNB requirements, electrical installation practices, testing & commissioning processes, and relevant industry standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Willing to travel and be based at project sites when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Data Center projects.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an advantage.
• CIDB Green Card (required).
• Experience working with hyperscale data center or mission-critical facility projects is an added advantage.
