Job summary

Fuku is seeking a Construction Manager/MEP for its PMC team to own a complex hyperscale data centre project from construction through commissioning and handover. The role focuses on quality, safety, and efficient delivery in a fast-paced environment in Johor, Malaysia.

Responsibilities include managing main contractors and stakeholders, coordinating MEP packages, and ensuring on-time project completion with strict adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience on data centre projects.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale MEP packages.

Responsibilities

• Own construction, commissioning and client handover for hyperscale data centre projects.

Job description

We’re looking for a Construction Manager/MEP (Data Centre Projects) to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team and take ownership of a complex hyperscale data centre through construction, commissioning, and client handover.

This role will play a key part in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Location: Medini Iskandar, Johor, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale Data Centre or mission-critical projects
• Strong track record managing construction delivery from inception through completion and commissioning
• Experience coordinating and managing main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site management, health & safety, and quality control processes
• Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and site operations
• Experience overseeing civil, structural, architectural, and MEP construction activities
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Mandatory Data Centre project experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical
• 10 years of construction experience with projects in data center.
• Proven track record managing large-scale MEP packages for complex developments.

Strong understanding of:

• HVAC (cooling systems, CRAH/CRAC, chillers)
• Electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, MV/LV)
• BMS and fire protection systems
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems
