Job summary

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, invites an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead all housekeeping and laundry operations. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional cleanliness, comfort and service standards across the property, underpinning our five‑star reputation and guest satisfaction.

Based in Sabah, you will manage teams, budgets and policies, while collaborating with Front Office, Maintenance and Guest Services to ensure seamless operations and staff

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably within a luxury four or five-star hotel environment.
• Proven track record of managing large housekeeping teams and achieving high occupancy standards.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality industry standards, guest expectations and service excellence principles.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Proficient in hotel management systems and computerised scheduling software.
• Exceptional leadership and people management abilities with a focus on staff development.
• Strong communication skills in English; fluency in additional languages is advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental practices.
• Relevant certification in hospitality management or housekeeping is preferred.
• Attention to detail and high standards of personal presentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all housekeeping staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance evaluation
• Establish and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities
• Manage laundry operations, ensuring efficient processing and quality control of linens, uniforms and guest items
• Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures and standard operating guidelines
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure compliance with hotel standards
• Manage housekeeping budgets, including supplies, equipment and labour costs
• Liaise with other departments including Front Office, Maintenance and Guest Services to coordinate operations
• Address guest complaints and concerns related to room cleanliness and housekeeping services promptly and professionally
• Maintain comprehensive records, including inventory, staff schedules and maintenance reports
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Lead team meetings and provide coaching to develop staff capabilities and engagement
