Job summary

Shell is recruiting in Malaysia for a role focused on coaching distributors to build technical capability in lubricants and applications. The role emphasizes training, field coaching, and facilitating technical sales support across the distributor network.

You will develop Distributor Technical Advisors, teach Shell product specifications for various equipment, and collaborate with IC Sales AM to ensure alignment with business strategy.

Qualifications

• Degree (e.g. BSc, BEng) in engineering or comparable technical background.
• Two to five years of experience in a technical (lubricants & applications) environment.
• Proven track record in technical and commercial competence development in B2B environment.
• Experience in distributor management beneficial (i.e., DICE training).
• Good command of English; Chinese and Malay language skills advantageous.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Responsibilities

• Build technical capability with go forward distributors (80%).
• Develop DTA competencies to specify Shell products for specific applications.
• Provide training courses and field coaching using DVP program modules.
• Increase value-led selling and cross/up-selling through distributor staff coaching.
• Collaborate with local IC sales AM to coach distributors and maintain business alignment.
• Joint visits with distributor resources to customers for field coaching and product promotion.
• Promote Product Plus and online tools like LubeMatch and LubeAdvisor.
• Advise on equipment service life and maintenance actions from oil analysis results.
• Deliver lubricants training to indirect Shell Sales staff to expand product-expertise.
• Provide direct technical support for complex issues to distributors and customers.
