Job summary

RISB is seeking a driver responsible for transporting project materials safely and on time across Penang and surrounding areas. The role requires valid driving credentials and a strong focus on road safety and maintenance. You will coordinate with warehouses and project teams, handle loading/unloading, and ensure accurate delivery documentation.

Willingness to travel to project sites is essential. Experience in logistics is advantageous; you will work full-time in an on-site role with

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driving license (GDL) suitable for the assigned company vehicle.
• Experience in lorry driving, transportation or logistics will be an advantage.
• Familiar with Penang and surrounding areas / project site routes.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle maintenance.
• Responsible, punctual, disciplined and safety-conscious.
• Able to assist with loading and unloading activities.
• Willing to travel to project sites and other locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver goods to suppliers, warehouses, customers and project sites according to schedule.
• Ensure timely collection and delivery of project materials.
• Plan efficient delivery routes.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Check vehicle condition (fuel, engine oil, tyres, brakes, lights).
• Keep vehicle clean and well-maintained.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance promptly.
• Assist with loading/unloading when required.
• Secure and protect goods during transport.
• Verify quantities and condition before departure and on delivery.
• Obtain delivery acknowledgements and signatures.
• Complete DOs, invoices and delivery documents correctly.
• Verify vehicle documents and transport permits are valid.
• Follow road safety regulations and company policies.
• Communicate with warehouse/logistics on schedules.
• Inform supervisors of delays or route issues.
• Assist with stock movement during non-delivery periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for transporting project materials, goods and equipment between suppliers, warehouses and project sites safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Transport and deliver goods, materials and equipment to suppliers, warehouses, customers and project sites according to schedule.

Ensure timely collection and delivery of project materials.

Plan and follow efficient delivery routes.

Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.

Check vehicle condition, including fuel, engine oil, tyres, brakes and lights.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure it is in good operating condition.

Report vehicle defects, accidents or maintenance requirements promptly.

Assist with loading and unloading of goods when required.

Ensure all goods are properly secured and protected during transportation.

Verify the quantity and condition of goods before departure and upon delivery.

Obtain delivery acknowledgements and customer signatures.

Ensure Delivery Orders (DO), invoices and other delivery documents are properly completed and submitted.

Ensure vehicle documents and relevant transport permits are valid.

Comply with road safety regulations, traffic laws, company policies and safety procedures.

Communicate with warehouse, logistics and project teams regarding delivery schedules and updates.

Inform supervisors of any delivery delays, route issues or operational concerns.

Assist with stock movement and warehouse activities during non-delivery periods.

Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements
