Operating and maintaining a lorry in safe and roadworthy condition at all times
Transporting construction materials, equipment and supplies to project sites in a timely manner
Planning and executing efficient delivery routes to meet project schedules and deadlines
Conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues or defects
Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage and fuel consumption
Adhering strictly to traffic regulations, speed limits and all relevant safety legislation
Communicating effectively with site supervisors, project managers and dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules and any delays
Keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained both internally and externally
Assisting with the manual handling and unloading of materials where required
What we're looking for
Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) or Lorry driving licence with a clean driving record
Minimum 3 years' experience driving lorries in a commercial or construction environment
Comprehensive knowledge of road traffic regulations, safety standards and best practices for load securing
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to identify and report vehicle maintenance issues
Excellent time management and route planning capabilities
Physical fitness and ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with site teams
Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to meeting delivery schedules
Full medical fitness for HGV driving and willingness to undergo regular health and safety checks
Preferably, experience in the construction or building materials transportation sector
