Job summary

Ikrar Jaya Bina Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Lorry Driver to join our Melaka construction team. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of materials to various project sites, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of relevant driving experience, a valid B2/D/E licence, strong knowledge of local routes, and a commitment to safety and reliability on site.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B2, D & E (GDL) driving licence with a clean record.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a lorry driver, preferably in construction or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of local roads and routes.
• Excellent safety awareness and ability to follow road regulations.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items safely.
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude towards work.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a lorry in good condition, conduct routine checks, report issues.
• Transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to project sites in Peninsular Malaysia.
• Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and minimise fuel use.
• Load and unload cargo safely, secure items, and follow weight distribution guidelines.
• Maintain records of deliveries, mileage, fuel, and maintenance.
• Comply with traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
• Communicate delivery schedules and delays with site supervisors and management.
• Keep the lorry clean and presentable for a professional appearance.
• Assist with minor troubleshooting and basic maintenance tasks as needed.

We are seeking an experienced Lorry Driver to join the team at Ikrar Jaya Bina Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position, where you will play a crucial role in our construction operations. As a Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials, equipment and supplies to various construction sites. This role is essential to maintaining the efficiency and productivity of our construction projects, ensuring that all deliveries are completed with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating and maintaining a lorry in excellent working condition, performing regular vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance issues promptly
• Transporting construction materials, equipment and supplies to designated project sites in and around Peninsular Malaysia
• Planning optimal routes to ensure timely deliveries whilst minimising fuel consumption and wear on the vehicle
• Loading and unloading cargo safely, adhering to weight distribution guidelines and securing items properly for transport
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance
• Complying with all traffic regulations, road safety laws and company safety policies at all times
• Communicating effectively with site supervisors, warehouse staff and management regarding delivery schedules and any delays
• Keeping the lorry clean and well‑organised to maintain a professional appearance
• Assisting with minor troubleshooting and basic maintenance tasks as required

What we’re looking for

• Valid Class B2, D & E (GDL) driving licence, with a clean driving record
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a lorry driver, preferably in the construction or logistics industry
• Strong knowledge of local roads and routes
• Excellent safety awareness and commitment to adhering to all road traffic regulations

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various teams on site
• Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks
• Familiarity with vehicle logbooks and delivery documentation
• Previous experience transporting construction materials or equipment is advantageous
