Job summary

Oriental Sunrise Engineering Sdn. Bhd invites applications for a Lorry Crane Operator to safely operate the lorry-mounted crane and manage loading, unloading, and positioning of materials at construction sites.

You will follow manufacturer instructions, lifting procedures, site safety rules, and Malaysian laws. The role requires a valid driving licence for the lorry class, crane competency or certification as required, and the ability to work overtime or on weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience operating lorry-mounted cranes on construction sites.
• Requires valid driving licence for the lorry class.
• DOSH/JKKP-recognized certification or competency where required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant crane operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the lorry-mounted crane safely for loading, unloading, lifting, and positioning materials.
• Operate within rated lifting capacity and crane limitations.
• Position the lorry safely and deploy outriggers/stabilizers correctly.
• FollowSite Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Signalman, or Banksman instructions.
• Maintain control of suspended loads during lifting, slewing, extension, and lowering.
• Drive the lorry safely when transporting materials and equipment.
• Conduct daily inspection of lorry and crane before operation.
• Confirm load weight/dimensions and check load chart.

Job description

The Lorry Crane Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the lorry-mounted crane and the safe transportation, loading, unloading, and positioning of materials and equipment at construction sites and other designated locations. The employee shall operate the lorry crane in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions, approved lifting procedures, site safety requirements, applicable Malaysian laws and regulations, and the Company's policies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the lorry-mounted crane safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, lifting, and positioning materials
• Operate the crane strictly within its rated lifting capacity and operating limitations
• Position the lorry safely before commencing lifting operations and deploy outriggers/stabilizers correctly
• Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, Signalman, or Banksman
• Maintain proper control of suspended loads during lifting, slewing, extension, and lowering
• Drive the assigned lorry safely and responsibly when transporting materials and equipment
• Conduct daily inspection of both the lorry and crane before operation
• Confirm the approximate weight and dimensions of the load before lifting and check the crane's load chart
• Ensure appropriate lifting accessories are used and are in good condition
• Comply with all Company safety policies, project safety requirements, and lifting procedures

About you

• Possess a valid driving licence appropriate for the assigned lorry class
• Possess the required crane operator competency / authorization for the type of lorry crane operated, where applicable
• Relevant DOSH/JKKP-recognized certification or competency where required by applicable regulations
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience operating a lorry crane is preferred
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, logistics, heavy lifting, or material transportation is an advantage
• Good understanding of load limits, load charts, lifting procedures, and basic rigging practices
• Physically fit and able to work at construction sites
• Responsible, disciplined, safety-conscious, and reliable
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, or shifts when required
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
