Job summary

SONT PHOTONICS Sdn Bhd is seeking a Logistics professional to oversee planning, selection, timeliness, and cost management of freight forwarding in Malaysia. The role includes booking transportation, tracking status, and handling exceptions, along with liaising with MITI, MIDA, and customs to stay abreast of import/export policies.

The candidate will manage LMW applications, handle customs documentation, and support CO certificate processes, with ad-hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in international trade, logistics or related field.
• At least 1 year of work experience in related fields; familiarity with Malaysian import and export processes is preferred.
• Proficient in customs declaration and clearance procedures and laws.
• Strong communication and coordination skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan overall logistics, including selection, timeliness and cost management of freight forwarding.
• Book transportation, monitor status and handle exceptions.
• Interface with MITI, MIDA and customs; stay updated on import/export policies.
• Maintain and apply for licenses such as LMW and CO certificates.
• Handle import/export customs documents and data; perform ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Job description

Responsible for the overall planning, selection, timeliness and cost management of logistics freight forwarding.

Responsible for logistics transportation booking, pick-up, status follow-up, and handling of exceptions.

Serve as the work interface with MITI, MIDA, and customs, and keep abreast of policies and changes in import and export operations.

Responsible for the application and maintenance of LMW.

Handle import and export customs matters, such as sorting customs declaration documents and outputting customs declaration data.

Apply for and track CO certificates.

Ad-hoc tasks assigned by direct superior.

Job Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree or above in international trade, logistics or related field..

At least 1 year of work experience in related fields; familiarity with Malaysian import and export processes, and knowledge of U.S. import and export processes and policies is preferred.

Proficient in customs declaration and clearance procedures, and understanding of relevant national laws and regulations.

Strong communication and coordination skills, as well as problem‑solving abilities.
