• Manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix server environments.
• Provide technical support for Linux OS and enterprise database infrastructure.
• Support and troubleshoot databases with database and infrastructure teams.
• Diagnose and resolve DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity issues.
• Support NAS, SAN, RAID, and NFS storage technologies.
• Perform monitoring, log analysis, performance optimization, and incident handling.
• Assist with backup, recovery, and data protection activities.
• Work with infrastructure and database teams to resolve issues and ensure stability.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Linux / Unix Engineer (Database Support) to join a well-established Multinational Corporation (MNC) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

This is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals with strong Linux/Unix administration skills and database support experience to work in a dynamic enterprise infrastructure environment.

The position offers a long-term direct contract with an MNC for 24+ months, with potential conversion to permanent employment based on individual performance and business requirements.

Important: This position is exclusively open to Malaysian citizens who can communicate effectively in Mandarin.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix server environments.

Provide technical support for Linux operating systems and enterprise database infrastructure.

Support and troubleshoot database environments in collaboration with database and infrastructure teams.

Diagnose and resolve networking issues involving DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity.

Support enterprise storage technologies, including NAS, SAN, RAID, and NFS.

Perform system monitoring, log analysis, performance optimization, and incident troubleshooting.

Assist with backup, recovery, and data protection activities.

Work closely with infrastructure and database teams to identify and resolve technical issues.

Ensure system stability, availability, and operational efficiency.

Mandatory Requirements (Must Have)

Malaysian citizenship is mandatory.

Mandarin communication skills are mandatory.

Strong hands-on experience in Linux/Unix server administration and troubleshooting (any distribution).

Experience supporting at least one of the following databases:

Oracle

MySQL

SAP HANA

MongoDB

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of storage technologies such as NAS, SAN, RAID, and NFS.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills in an enterprise IT environment.

Added Advantages (Good to Have)

Professional certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, CCNA, or CCNP.

Knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.

Experience with Commvault or other enterprise backup and data protection solutions.

Previous experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
