Job summary

HGH Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Lighting Operator to join its technical team and oversee lighting for weddings, corporate events, performances and other functions. You will operate and program lighting systems, create lighting cues, and ensure smooth execution with the event and AV teams.

Experience with GrandMA2 or Avolites Tiger Touch is advantageous; fresh graduates with relevant technical exposure are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience as Lighting Operator in events, concerts, hotels, convention centres or similar environments.
• Experience with GrandMA2 or Avolites Tiger Touch is an advantage.
• Able to programme lighting cues and lighting shows.

Responsibilities

• Operate and programme lighting systems for events, functions and performances.
• Maintain housekeeping and cable management, ensuring neat, safe wiring and equipment.
• Keep the lighting control area and workspace clean and organized.
• Apply creativity in lighting design and operation to enhance the event experience.
• Prepare and execute lighting cues according to event requirements.
• Conduct lighting checks and ensure all equipment functions properly before events.
• Work closely with event, AV and operations teams for smooth execution.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting equipment when required.
• Maintain and handle lighting equipment properly.

We are looking for a Lighting Operator to join our technical team at HGH Convention Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and programming lighting systems, creating lighting effects and ensuring smooth execution throughout our events.

This role involves working closely with the event and AV teams to support the smooth operation of weddings, corporate functions, performances and other events held at our venue.

Experience with GrandMA2 Lighting Console and Avolites Tiger Touch is an advantage. We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, creative, responsible and comfortable working in a fast-paced live event environment.

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Lighting Operator in events, concerts, hotels, convention centres or similar environments.
• Experience with GrandMA2 or Avolites Tiger Touch is an advantage.
• Able to programme lighting cues and lighting shows.
• Creative mindset with the ability to develop lighting effects suitable for different types of events.
• Good understanding of stage and event lighting.
• Able to work during weekends or public holidays.
• Responsible, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.
