Job summary

Straits Design Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified professional to liaise with specifiers, end users and government agencies on lighting requirements. You will support design, field studies and proofs of concept, while supervising installations on site and coordinating testing and commissioning of systems.

The role requires a science/engineering degree, familiarity with CAD and office software, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Travel within Malaysia is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering discipline.
• Experience in Project Management is an advantage.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAD; training provided.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Possess a valid driving license with own car.
• Willing to travel within Malaysia.

Job Scope

• Liaise with specifiers, end users and government agencies on their lighting requirements.
• Support sales and marketing department with regards to lighting design, field application studies and all other technical matters. Product and lighting design training will be provided.
• Assist Sales Personnel to do mock-up for proof of concept and to client prior to delivery of products for successfully awarded projects.
• Supervise lighting installations at site.
• Organize Testing and Commissioning of completed lighting installations (and control system where applicable.)

Qualifications

We are constantly challenged to deliver SMART Lighting Systems that are innovative and energy efficient and we need you to be:

• In possession of a Degree in a Science/Engineering Discipline. A Degree in Similar Disciplines will be an advantage.
• Previous or current experience in Project Management will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with Microsoft Words, Excel, Power Point and CAD. Training for specialized lighting design programmes will be provided.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Posses a valid driving license with own car.
• Willing to travel within Malaysia.
