Job summary

A healthcare group is seeking a highly skilled legal and compliance manager in Selangor, Malaysia. This role is crucial for ensuring the organization adheres to legal standards and effectively manages regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing corporate governance, coordinating contract negotiations, and advising on compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have a law degree, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in managing compliance across international teams is essential.

Job description

To coordinate and manage all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions of the Group. This role ensures that the company operates within legal frameworks, minimizes commercial risks, maintains regulatory certification and supports all departments (operations, sales, HR, finance) in managing contracts and compliance.

Key Responsibility:

Manage all corporate governance matters and Board documentation.

Assist in coordinating, drafting, review and negotiating commercial contracts (sales, supplier, distribution, logistics).

Assist to oversee regulatory and product compliance.

Providing support to ensure compliance with labour, safety and environmental laws across operations.

Support HR and Operations in maintaining labour rights compliance.

Advise management on dispute resolution, compliance investigations or regulatory inquiries.

Support and coordinate with external legal advisors.

Develop and implement internal legal and compliance policies, procedures and training.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, commercial and or corporate affairs roles.

Preferably experience in manufacturing and/ or export/import oriented industries.

Has a proactive personality with strong communication, negotiation and documentation skills.

Good understanding of international trade and commercial law.

Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.

High ethical standards and integrity.

Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills.

Ability to coordinate and support teams at oversea branches and offices with different international time zone.
