Job summary

FundedHere, a Southeast Asia lending platform for e-commerce merchants, seeks a junior legal professional to work directly with our General Counsel on live deals. You will draft and review financing documents, fundraises, and partner agreements, receiving drafts to refine rather than just read.

You'll gain hands-on experience with funding structures, regulatory questions (MAS, AML/CFT, PDPA), and due diligence while handling confidential information in a fast-moving environment.

Job description

FundedHere provides inventory-backed funding to e-commerce sellers in Southeast Asia, mostly merchants selling on Shopee, Tokopedia and TikTok Shop. Merchants repay us through a share of their revenue. We work across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, so legal questions here rarely stay within one jurisdiction.

About the role

We're a small legal team, so you'll work directly with our General Counsel on live deals: financing documents for merchants, our own fundraising, and agreements with the partners we work with. Expect real work and real feedback. You'll be given drafts to do, not just reading.

What you'll work on

• Help prepare and review financing documentation for merchant deals, including funding agreements, security documents, guarantees and the related checklists
• Support fundraising work, from term sheets, subscription and shareholder documents to due diligence requests and keeping the data room in order
• Draft and review partnership agreements with marketplaces, logistics providers, 3PLs and referral partners, plus the NDAs and MOUs that come before them
• Research regulatory questions that affect how we fund and raise money (MAS, SC Malaysia, AML/CFT, PDPA) and write short memos on what they mean for us
• Keep track of open deals, conditions precedent and deadlines, and chase colleagues or counterparties for what's missing

Who we're looking for

You're studying law (or finance with a strong interest in how deals are documented) and you're curious about how financing and fundraising actually work. You write clearly, you check your work, and you ask questions when something doesn't make sense. You can be trusted with confidential commercial information.

Good English is essential. Mandarin will be useful. It helps if you're comfortable with Word and Excel and open to using AI tools in your work.
