Job summary

Majestic Gen Sdn Bhd seeks a Legal Counsel – Litigation & Compliance to join our Damansara Heights office in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on strategic litigation management and robust compliance oversight to safeguard the company’s interests.

You will manage litigation matters across corporate commercial, property, adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings, while implementing compliance programmes and monitoring regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• A law degree with admission to the bar in Malaysia or equivalent legal qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in corporate commercial matters, employment matters and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in managing estate-family dispute matters is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian legal frameworks relevant to corporate operations and commercial law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with high attention to detail.
• Experience working with external counsel and managing legal vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgment.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.
• Professional integrity and discretion with sensitive matters.
• Preferred experience in dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor litigation matters across corporate commercial, property, adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings.
• Develop legal strategies with external solicitors and provide regular updates to Management.
• Review pleadings, papers, submissions, witness statements and settlements.
• Oversee recovery and enforcement proceedings and monitor legal costs.
• Provide legal research and advisory support on project development, commercial agreements and tenancies.
• Liaise with external counsel and manage vendor relationships.
• Ensure deadlines are met and matters are handled efficiently.
