Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Legal Counsel to join our team at KL office. He/ she serves as a trusted business partner, providing commercially focused legal support across a broad range of corporate, commercial, compliance, and governance matters.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide practical and commercially sound legal advice to support business operations, strategic projects, and corporate initiatives.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documentation to safeguard the Company’s interests.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and contractual risks while enabling business growth and operational excellence.
• Support corporate governance and company secretarial matters, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
• Review and enhance policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks to promote legal and ethical business practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, regional legal teams, and external counsel to deliver effective legal support, risk management, and legal awareness programmes.

Requirements of the successful candidate:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) or equivalent qualification and admission to practice as an Advocate & Solicitor or qualified legal practitioner.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in contract negotiation, legal risk management, and providing practical, business-oriented legal advice to support operational and strategic objectives.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to confidently interact with people of all cultures at all levels.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Additional language will be an advantage.
• Must be willing to travel to Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.
