Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking a qualified Compliance & Regulatory and Legal Advisory professional in Malaysia to oversee KYC processes, monitor regulatory changes, and advise management on governance matters. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, identifying legal risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant practices across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant legal and compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and contract law with Malaysian regulatory understanding.
• Hands-on experience reviewing, negotiating, and drafting commercial contracts and agreements.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision.

Compliance & Regulatory

• Oversee and manage KYC and due diligence processes — verifying the identities and backgrounds of customers and business partners in line with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements
• Monitor and track changes in relevant laws and regulations, keeping management informed of developments that may impact business operations
• Advise management on corporate governance and compliance matters, ensuring the company's practices remain aligned with current legal and regulatory frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance procedures are correctly implemented and consistently observed across all departments

Legal Advisory & Documentation

• Provide practical legal guidance and support to the management team on day-to-day business activities and strategic decisions
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents including contracts, agreements, letters of intent, and other commercial documentation — ensuring the company's interests are adequately protected at all times
• Identify potential legal risks in business activities and propose appropriate mitigating measures

General

• Work independently to manage and deliver tasks within set timeframes and to a high standard
• Support ad hoc legal and compliance matters as required by the business

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or a related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in legal and compliance roles
• Solid knowledge of corporate, commercial, and contract law — with a good understanding of Malaysian regulatory requirements
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience in reviewing, negotiating, and preparing commercial contracts and legal agreements
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills — able to provide well‑reasoned, practical legal advice under pressure
• Proficient in English — both written and verbal — with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
