Plexus Corp. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Learning and Development professional who will partner with site leaders and HR Partners to build a high performing workforce and cascade our core values across APAC.

You will design, deliver and continuously improve talent management programs and training curricula, facilitate sessions, assess outcomes, and ensure development initiatives align with business goals and employees’ growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years related experience; equivalent combination considered.
  • ATD or SHRM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with site functional managers to identify training needs and develop training solutions to close performance gaps.
  • Collaborate with SMEs or external consultants to develop training materials for technical training.
  • Deliver relevant technical training programs following the training schedule.
  • Support regional manufacturing-engineering development curriculums and processes.
  • Secure buy-in from site leaders on engineers’ competency development and ensure shared ownership.
  • Source and coordinate development programs to maximize participation.
  • Measure training effectiveness via surveys, assessments and stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop and manage training resources to enable efficient knowledge sharing across sites.
  • Expand training resources with functional experts to APAC.

Purpose Statement

This role is a key resource for employees and people leaders to enable the development of a high performing workforce. It will work collaboratively with HR Partners and business leaders to create a culture of learning, cascade our core values and support all employees in realizing their full potential. The incumbent will also have accountability to understand supporting talent management systems and processes so he/she is capable of analyzing the effectiveness of such processes and can recommend enhancements for continuous improvement.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • Effectively partner with site leadership to facilitate and execute on our Talent Management strategy. Provide guidance, advice and assistance on people and business issues, initiatives, process improvements and training and development opportunities.
  • Develops, designs, and implements targeted organizational development interventions at a team level to improve individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Partner with human resources teams and business leaders to implement talent management strategies. This may include on-boarding, development planning, career pathing, and succession planning.
  • Creates and delivers learning and development curriculum and facilitates organizational learning and development programs and workshops to employees and managers.
  • Conducts individual, team, and organizational assessments. Analyzes assessment results and recommendations for feedback, development, and performance coaching.
Education/Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • ATD (Association for Talent Development) or SHRM certification is preferred.

Job Description
  • Work closely with site functional managers to identify functional technical training needs/curriculums and develop training solutions such as classroom training, hands-on practical avenues and etc to close the performance gap.
  • Work collaboratively with respective area’s SMEs or external consultants to develop training materials and methodology pertaining to technical training.
  • Conduct relevant technical training programs to employees within the incumbent’s capacity, following the training schedule.
  • Participate, support and monitor manufacturing-engineering development curriculums (ie: Yearly engineering training roadmap) and process at regional level.
  • Get buy-in and support from respective site functional leaders on manufacturing-engineering development and ensure there is shared ownership on engineers’ competency development.
  • Source and coordinate manufacturing-engineering development program to ensure optimal participation from the engineering community.
  • Measure and report out the effectiveness of training through survey, assessment, customer and stakeholder’s feedback.
  • Develop and manage the training resources (setup a pool of internal/external trainers, materials, equipment) to allow effective utilization of shared resources and knowledge between sites.
  • Work closely with functional experts or SMEs to continuously expand training resources and deploy it across APAC.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering or Science degree with minimum 3 years’ working experience in PCBA environment.
  • Familiar with PCBA processes such as screen printing, component placement, reflow, manual insertion, wave soldering, selective wave soldering, washing, conformal coating and rework.
  • Good technical report writing skill, communication skill, presentation skill.
  • Strong analytical skill and familiar with Minitab/Statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge in IPC standard and 8D problem solving skill.
  • Experience in chemical qualification activities such as solder paste, flux and etc and pallet design would be an added advantage.
