Job summary

STMicroelectronics in Malaysia is seeking a Process Engineer – Leadframe Process & Tooling Expert to own and sustain Lead Lock Tape and Lead Trimming operations in a high-volume back-end environment. You will optimize process parameters, support tooling design, drive yield improvement, and collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment, and Maintenance teams to achieve manufacturing excellence.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering with 5+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in semiconductor assembly or high-volume manufacturing process engineering.
• Hands-on leadframe process experience withLead Lock Tape and/or Lead Trimming.
• Strong data-driven problem-solving using SPC, DOE, FMEA, 8D, 5 Why.
• Experience with tooling support, qualification, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own and sustain Lead Lock Tape and Lead Trimming assembly processes.
• Define, optimize, and troubleshoot process parameters for stability and quality.
• Support tooling design, qualification, modification, and troubleshooting.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Lead process improvement using structured problem solving and data-driven methods.
• Support NPI, process transfer, qualification, and ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment, Maintenance, and Tooling teams.
• Conduct process capability analyses, DOE, SPC, and yield loss studies.
• Drive scrap reduction, cycle time, productivity, and cost initiatives.
• Maintain SOPs, control plans, specs, and troubleshooting guides.
