Job summary

CIMB in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Java/J2EE developer to lead end-to-end software delivery and provide robust production support across the SDLC. You will write code, design solutions, and help maintain secure, well-documented systems.

The role requires hands-on development with Spring Boot/MVC, JBoss, and REST/ JMS integrations, plus strong collaboration with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and incident resolution in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of Java/J2EE development experience.
• 5+ years leading development teams or technical workstreams.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and JBoss.
• Experience in technical design, code review, and solution architecture.
• Experience supporting production systems, including incident management and RCA.
• Experience with SQL Server/MySQL, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.
• Experience in release management, deployment activities, and change governance.
• Experience integrating applications using REST, SOAP, JMS, or MQ.
• Experience working with business users, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Operating System: RHEL 7.9+ or Windows Server 2012+

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver development across the full SDLC and production support.
• Perform hands-on coding, technical design, and ensure robust, secure solutions.
• Provide L2/L3 BAU production support within SLA and on-call coverage.
• Conduct RCA and coordinate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution.
• Manage deployment and release activities across DEV, SIT, UAT, PROD, DR.
• Ensure documentation standards and change/release governance are followed.
• Collaborate with support, infra, QA, and business stakeholders for smooth delivery.
