Job summary

WD in Penang seeks a technically skilled Engineer to manage the TEM and FIB laboratory operations, supervise technicians, and drive failure analysis support. You will plan preventive maintenance, prepare reports, and ensure safety and data integrity across all activities.

The role requires hands-on TEM/FIB experience, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to translate data into engineering recommendations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on TEM/FIB instrumentation experience preferred.
• Supervising/mentoring technicians is an advantage.
• Ability to translate analytical data into actionable engineering recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of TEM and FIB laboratory, ensuring uptime and safety.
• Plan preventive maintenance for TEM and FIB instruments.
• Supervise and train laboratory technicians for sample prep and analysis.
• Perform failure analysis and provide results to cross-functional teams.
• Prepare FA reports, characterization data, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with process, development, and quality teams to resolve failures.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance capabilities and turnaround time.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of samples.
• Coordinate with vendors and service engineers for repairs and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and data integrity standards.
