Job summary

BJAK is expanding its technology team in Malaysia and seeks a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems.

This hands-on leadership role requires designing systems, reviewing code, guiding engineers, and driving initiatives from idea to production. You will move between architecture and implementation and mentor the team to improve reliability and velocity.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep design and architecture skills for complex, high-scale systems.
• Willingness to stay hands-on and code when needed.
• Proven leadership on major engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical capability across the team.
• Own systems beyond release — monitor production and resolve root causes.
