Job summary

BJAK is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team building and scaling products used by millions in the region. You will guide architects, make critical technical decisions, and ensure delivery meets customer outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, technical depth across backend/frontend/APIs and a track record of shipping real production systems. This is a hybrid role with on-site collaboration several days a week.

Qualifications

Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
Proven ability to lead software engineers and own delivery.
Deep technical skills across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and cloud infra.
Ability to make architecture decisions balancing speed and scalability.
Strong product sense and link engineering work to customer outcomes.
Ownership mentality and accountability for delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend and full stack.
Own delivery for major product areas ensuring speed, reliability and quality.
Collaborate with product, design, mobile and AI teams to turn problems into execution.
Drive architecture decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infra and customer systems.
Set standards for code quality, design, testing, observability, security and reliability.
Coach engineers through feedback and performance management.
Identify performance gaps and raise the bar for execution.
Improve processes, tooling and automation to move faster at scale.
Own production outcomes: monitor, troubleshoot and prevent recurring issues.
