Job summary

Hornbill Skyways Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a capable Lead Software Developer to drive software projects from requirements through deployment and maintenance. You will conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and monitor performance to maintain system reliability.

The role requires strong leadership, SDLC knowledge, and experience with web-based apps and APIs. Collaboration with departments and vendors is essential in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SWE, IT or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in software/application development with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, software architecture, database management and system integration.
• Experience in developing web-based applications, APIs and database-driven systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, deployment and software security practices is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Good project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software development projects from requirements gathering to maintenance.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues for reliability and availability.
• Coordinate with internal departments and users to identify system requirements and improve applications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specs and development records.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with external software vendors and service providers as needed.
• Carry out other IT duties as assigned by Supervisor and HOD.
