Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Malaysian Citizen only.
• 5+ years as a software developer; 3+ years as tech lead/senior engineer; strong PHP/Laravel expertise.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, Agile and best practices in software development.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring a team of developers.

As the Lead Software Developer (PHP) at Chris Business Solution Sdn Bhd, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented developers in the design, development, and deployment of innovative software solutions. This is a full-time role based in Butterworth, Penang, where you will play a crucial part in shaping the company's technological direction and delivering exceptional results.

What you'll be doing

• Provide technical leadership and direction to the software development team
• Design, develop, and implement complex software applications using PHP and other relevant technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the company's offerings
• Mentor and train junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development
• Participate in project planning, resource allocation, and delivery of software projects within defined timelines and budgets

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• Open for Malaysian Citizen only
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a software developer, with at least 3 years as Tech Lead or Senior Software Engineer, with deep expertise in PHP development or Laravel
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, agile methodologies, and best practices in software development
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Experience in managing and mentoring a team of developers
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
