Job summary

Exact Asia Malaysia is expanding its Technology Development team in Melaka. We seek a Software Team Lead to guide a scrum team, driving innovative SaaS solutions while upholding quality, standards, and Agile practices.

The role emphasizes ownership of architecture, domain expertise, and collaboration with global teams. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in .NET development, strong unit testing and design principles, REST/WCF/SOAP experience, and a proactive, English-speaking mindset in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in .NET development and software engineering.
• Strong knowledge of unit testing, code reviews, and SOLID design.
• Deep SQL knowledge with performance tuning experience a plus.
• Experience with web service APIs (REST, WCF/SOAP) and cloud tools.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile product development.
• English communication skills; proactive in a hybrid environment.

As a Software Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in leading and inspiring a dynamic scrum development team. Your responsibilities will encompass guiding, building, maintaining, and developing the team to drive innovative solutions according to the innovation roadmap.

You will be responsible for:

• Lead and Inspire: Guide, build, maintain, and develop a dynamic scrum development team.
• Innovate and Deliver: Drive solutions and take ownership of Delivery according to the innovation roadmap and Scrum Cadence.
• Quality Engineering: Manage and prevent all software quality issues related to development, integration, testing, and performance, acting as a key escalation point.
• Standards and Design: Ensure software is developed according to recommended standards and designs of Exact
• Strategic Priorities Execution: Execute technology strategies to support business and technology goals.
• Domain Expertise: Take ownership of a specific technical domain and functionality that you are part of.
• Daily Engagement: Manage attendance, absenteeism, team meetings, communication, leave management, and expense claim approvals of the team.
• Performance Management: Set team objectives, conduct reviews, provide regular check-ins and feedback, handle performance improvement plans.
• Learning and Development: Identify learning needs, create learning plans, conduct career aspiration dialogues, and enable personal development of your team.

The Technology Development team is responsible for and involved in developing SAAS based products that automates the business process of Finance, HR, Wholesale Distribution, Manufacturing and Projects. We do that along with highly competent engineers, who are organized in empowered product teams and who are encouraged to continuously develop themselves. As we embark on overall growth and growth in Malaysia, Melaka is our new location in the block expanding fast.

This = what you bring:

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years in .NET development.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in unit testing and code reviews.
• Strong understanding of clean code principles and SOLID design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL, with performance tuning experience being a plus.
• Experience with web service APIs such as REST and WCF/SOAP.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, including source control and CI/CD pipelines.

Methodologies:

Familiarity with Scrum and Agile product development methodologies.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
• Proactive and effective in a hybrid working environment.
• Ability to foster a team environment that encourages initiative, creativity, and achievement of goals.
